Tim Hobbs, Board of Directors

Tim Hobbs, M.D., is chief physician executive for Community Health Network, providing medical leadership for the Network’s five-hospital clinical enterprise, integration services and an evolving integrated physician group with more than 450 employed physicians.

Prior to this role, Tim served as CEO at Community Physicians of Indiana (CPI), the state’s largest primary care medical group, consisting of more than 200 physicians, nurse practitioners and PAs in 70+ practice sites across central Indiana. CPI’s physician work in partnership with Community Health Network and operates as a group practice, featuring endocrinology, family practice, internal medicine, ob/gyn, pediatric and rheumatology physicians.

Dr. Hobbs is an experienced family practice physician, starting in Elwood, Indiana in 1981 and maintained family practices in Anderson from 1983 to 1992. Before joining CPI, he was a family practitioner with Anderson Family Health Specialists from 1992 to 2001. Previous to his appointment as CEO, he served as Chief of Family Practice, Medical Staff President and then Chief of Staff for Community Hospital of Anderson as well as medical director for MedPrime Anderson, LLC, between 1997 and 2003.He also served as a member of Community’s Board of Trustees from 1989 to 1998.

Dr. Hobbs earned an undergraduate degree from Anderson University in 1974 and graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine four years later. He completed his residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. In 2004, he earned a master’s in business administration from Anderson University. He is board certified with the American Academy of Family Practice as well as a member of the American College of Physician Executives, American Academy of Family Physicians, Indiana State Medical Association, and Indianapolis Medical Society.

He and his wife, Vicki, live in Indianapolis, with their Black Lab, Tate. They have six children and five grandchildren.
